The Flood 03:10
...and in its wake we will rise up from the ground and live our lives by the day as the world keeps turning around It only happens when you least expect it you cannot force it it just comes to be of new origin You can only hope that when it's all done it will be something great something no one has ever experienced of new origin cannot be found in these pages Will it be fire? Will it be water? Will it be ice? Tilt your brain and let the ideas spill free flood the land below and fill up the sea Will it take form in new life or be cast out of sight and mind and time?
2.
A window opens up a breeze begins to blow eighty miles an hour everything I have ever known shrinks with the horizon Unprotected, unassured alone among many modestly sedate Let's take it faster now before we lose momentum and turn it all around memories decay so quickly I try but I can't see how to take them with me We've all been here before, broken We've all beaten down that door I know you all feel me
3.
Tiny Revenge 02:58
Light returns and our conscience finds its way our eyes meet a color we have never seen And it makes us feel afraid in awe of its majesty So let's jump and try to land on our feet but we're up so high we might never come down Relish this moment cause like anything, it won't last forever just think about it a beginning and an end
4.
Let it Go 04:02
I spent every day next to you whether you liked it or not just by taking up space in the room it would annoy you But we're older, times have changed and we have too Do you think we're better off? Well I know I'd like to think so Do you think we're better off? Only time will tell, let's let it go I know we had some good times writing plays with Melanie or watching movies with the lights off at Aunt Julie's road trips to Seattle I still remember how much J.C. paid just to get left out in the cold And though scarce you are I still know you well you are always welcome as far as I can tell
5.
The Other 04:03
6.
In every waking moment when the sun shines on our backs we know we can't turn around If we never see you again do your best to send letters we can just wait here and pretend they ever made it at all We know he's always right there waiting with his gun drawn and pressed to our backs we know we can't turn around Return to sender stamped out time and again
7.
The Signs 03:49
In a little plastic chair at a little wooden table in a well-lit room a mind waits to be shaped If data flows like water then dams are giving way the flood will not be contained it will overflow Did you ever question what it was for? No, I never questioned what it was for Don't try to hide cause it's everywhere no need to run, it'll follow you step into the light this could save us all or mark the end We saw this coming and ignored the signs what does it all mean? At any rate we'll find out someday when we fall apart in just the same way
8.
I gaze below and see the land I see the land between us grow wider and wider, vast and as I grow familiar my memory fades incoherent what do I have to come home to? And should I grow accustomed so easily as to fall into that dream? I still remember where I came from forget where I'm going And do you know every hour drains into the four walls of your home they're gonna crumble just the same Never gonna go back there you'll never see my face there again

10.
Peaceful serenity for the moment but what is gold never stays It doesn't take much for a helping hand to rob you blind it doesn't take much for a bad idea to change your mind take yourself, let's get out of here and hang you up to dry better yet, for this villain alone to die When you went away tears of joy cascaded down my face and all was right in the world not like yesterday anyway Flowing locks and bloodshot eyes portray a curse that's in disguise we can hope in desperation for permanent seperation Why would you go and try to kill me without a single reason why? Leave me, leave us, you are nothing but a curse in disguise
